HIREGS

The HIgh REsolution Gamma-ray and hard x-ray Spectrometer (HIREGS) is designed to detect photons from 20 keV to 18 MeV with an energy resolution of 1.5 to several keV, and photons up to ~160 MeV with ~0.5 MeV resolution. The instrument has been on three Antarctic Campaigns to take spectra of Solar Flares and the Galactic Center. The project is a joint effort between the UC San Diego and UC Berkeley. The San Diego PI is Mike Pelling.
